Do Thin Individuals Earn More?
Do thin people make more money?
Very simply, they do.
The healthier you are, the wealthier you will become, at least according to a study published in the American Journal of Public Health (1). Examining the link between health and wealth in wealthy countries found that healthier people are more productive on the job, make more money, and spend more days working because they do not take as much sick time.
The study was conducted on 2314 men and 2068 women and taxation register income data. To calculate mean income levels within these educational and occupational groups, a regression analysis was used. The results were amazing. Read on…
The study reported that obese women with higher education and in upper white-collar positions had substantially lower income. Overweight women with secondary education as well as manual workers had a smaller income disadvantage. Unjustly, except for the extremely obese, the same results did not apply to men.
In a study reported in the Journal of Socio-Economics (2) indicated that overweight women who are self-employed also receive notably lower earnings in customer-oriented occupations. Therefore, suggesting that the pay discrepancy does not come from employer discrimination.
An investment in health produces significant returns for individuals (especially women), their families and the economy as a whole. This deserves everyone is consideration. Blood flow to the brain is improved due to exercise and healthy eating. By incorporating exercise and a regular diet into your schedule, you improve your chances of making more money and having more success.
Consider this question: What if you ate a very unhealthy lunch or snack while sitting at your desk? What happens next? Did you feel fatigued, lazy about work and uninspired? Most likely you did. But if you ate a healthy lunch and went for a walk afterwards, you would have come back revitalized, rejuvenated, thinking positively, and thinking clearly.
Here are a few interesting statistics:
(1) Fit people earn more money
(2) People that are fit get better jobs
(3) Healthy people experience less stress
(4) People that are fit have a more positive outlook on life
Thus, if you want to get a better job, make more money, have a better outlook on life and experience less stress, you should include an exercise and healthy eating routine into your daily life.
