Acid Reflux is also called Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). It is the place where food or liquid comes to esophagus from stomach. And this causes pain and heartburn.

Treatment for GERD can include over the counter heartburn medications and prescription medications but one should be careful as many of these drugs have serious side effects and do not interact well with one another.

In some serious cases surgeries are also done. But it will not give you any guarantee that it will not come back.

There will be more abdominal pressure in people who are obese and this can trigger acid reflux. Acid reflux can be avoided by maintaining a healthy weight.
